Dr. Martinsen will discuss what's realistic for your specific situation during your evaluation. Your first visit typically includes a brief health discussion, placement of thin single-use sterile needles at targeted points (most patients describe minimal sensation, not sharp pain), a rest period, and a follow-up discussion about how you're feeling and whether additional sessions make sense. Acupuncture performed with sterile, single-use needles by a trained practitioner is generally safe for most people. It's worth discussing your full health history, including bleeding disorders, pregnancy, or pacemakers, before starting. At Asa Wellness Center, acupuncture isn't offered in isolation.
